Three G Phones

iPad Three G Review

So it has finally happened, the Apple iPad three G is available for customers. Ever since Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced the iPad, back in January of this year, potential customers have been highly anticipating its arrival similar to couples waiting for their new born baby. Last month it became available for customers, world wide. Although on the whole it has been a big success if one were to go by sales figures, the reaction to the product from a technical stand point has been mixed. Yes, it’s true that it is in a way a large iPhone. After all, it has the same operating system and touch screen display. But it is much more than that. To look at it as simply a bigger and more sophisticated iPhone would be a mistake.

First off, lets talk about the looks. One of the first things that anyone will notice is that the iPad looks very good, as does all Apple’s products. The high resolution 9.7 inch backlit LED display looks great. The screen makes activities such as web browsing and movie watching a real pleasure. The iPad has a multi touch screen that has been designed to be very precise and responsive. The iPad only weighs 1.5 pounds and is only half an inch thick. Another very popular feature is the battery life, which is much longer than the average laptop. You will now get 10 hours of battery life compared to 3 or 4 hours. It will even be able to stay on stand by mode for a full month and still have enough charge to do a couple of hours of work.

So far we have talked about the external goodies of this machine. Now lets look at what’s inside, after all that’s what really counts. The iPad three G has a built in 802.11n which means it can take advantage of Wi-Fi networks. In fact it will automatically locate any Wi-Fi networks which you will be able to hook on to with just a few key strokes. It also comes with Bluetooth 2.1+EDR which allows it to connect to wireless devices. The iPad has a very powerful A4 chip designed by apple engineers that is also very efficient. This is the secret behind why the iPad performs better than any touch screen device you have seen.

When it was first released, the iPad was not three G capable. But now they have released it with three G capability and you will be able to take advantage of super fast speeds for data transfer, up to 7.2 Mbps to be precise. This is what makes it very versatile piece equipment, because even if there is no Wi-Fi available you will be able to take advantage of the three G capability for all your download needs. On the down side the biggest complaint about the iPad is that it is costly to purchase. It also requires a bevy of add on features like lots of apps, bags, cases, iPad screen protectors, and whatever else you choose to buy in iTunes in order to take full advantage of it.

Three G Phones: Sony Ericsson M600i

It’s been a year since I’ve started using the Sony Ericsson (SE) M600i. I like this phone because really helps me with more than just making and receiving phone calls, but also browsing the internet, checking email, going on Facebook, chatting, and more. This is one of the most high-speed Three G phones, with a good price.

SE M600i comes with 60MB of internal memory and includes a 64MB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card with the phone. But I suggest to getting a 1GB card for bigger space if you want to save multimedia files on it.

Running Symbian OS 9.1 and UIQ 3.0, SE M600i boasts UMTS support and the usual business applications, such as QuickOffice to write, edit, and read Microsoft Word and Excel documents, and a PDF viewer. With this features, for me, SE M600i mixed my business with pleasure meanwhile I use it for listening music, video streaming, and games. And by using SE PC Suite application help me sync my e-mail, contacts, calendar, and tasks from SE M600i to computer. SE M600i organized my business in my hand easily.

And not just for phone call and business applications, sometimes I use SE M600i as modem by wired or wireless connection. Through Bluetooth I connected SE M600i to my computer and sharing files to other cell phone.

Its slim design looks elegant with comfortable qwerty keyboard and large touch-screen display. I think SE M600i is one of best pocketable smartphones. Using 3-way scroll wheel we can move up, down and select easily, going back by pressing back button on left side, using its @ button to open browser (but this can be changed to other actions in the settings), and the good one is we can use pen stylus to write faster than using its dual function keyboard.

Despite all its many features, the lack of Wi-Fi support and a camera sorely disappointing and sometimes it crashed once in a while, most while browsing.

Samsung has added to the three g phones pool with another mobile phone that is more than meets the eye. The Samsung Pixon, like you might guess from the name, is as much a camera as it is a phone. The standout feature being a top notch 8.0 megapixel digital camera built in.

For watching those video clips, the Samsung Pixon comes ready to use with all your MPEG4, WMV, DivX or XviD video files. Unlike many other phones, the Pixon has very few limitations when it comes to videos. When it comes to music, the Pixon has a media player that supports MP3, AAC, eAAC+ and WMA music files, it also has FM radio with RDS.

With all those files, you’re going to need some memory to save them. The Pixon has you covered, it has 200 MB of internal memory and a microSD slot for expanding your memory. Unlike some other 3G phones, this one is compatible with larger High Capacity SD cards also. You’ll never run out of space with this model.
