In this day and age it is absolutely essential to have a cell phone. Gone are the days when people were unreachable for periods of time – now it seems like everyone needs to be available at any given moment in order to successfully function in society. The problem is that cell phones are small, compact and often quite expensive – and when you lose one your service provider often makes you pay exorbitant fees and/or makes you sign a new contract before getting connected once again. Thankfully there’s a loophole.

Many outlets sell used cell phones and mobile devices catered to your interest. There are a few things you should know when buying a used cell phone in order to get the most bang for your buck. Online vendors such as eBay are a popular place to find used models of cell phones. One very important thing to do is to ask questions. See if the phones are ‘unlocked,’ meaning they work with any service provider. Oftentimes phones are specific to a certain carrier, such as the Android with Verizon or the iPhone with AT&T.

Make sure you are buying a phone that will work with your service plan. Be sure to ask other standard questions too – like why the phone is being sold, if there are any damages, what features it might have, etc. Be aware that if you purchase a phone such as a BlackBerry or an iPhone you will likely have to add a data plan to your cell phone bill in the long run. It is also important to ask about a return policy. Your phone might work just fine right out of the gate, but falter a few days afterward and you’ll have wasted your money. See if you can return it for a refund or exchange it for a new model before committing to any purchase – and be sure to keep all receipts and copies of the transaction when dealing with online vendors.

Used cell phones can range anywhere from $10 to $150 depending on what you are buying. Phones that are more in demand, such as iPhones, Androids and the latest Blackberry models, will undoubtedly cost a bit more.

Be sure to go over a few of these helpful tips when making your decision about purchasing a used cell phone, and you should be on your way to getting the best possible product you could ask for. Don’t miss out on this great money-saving opportunity.

Like most of us, you’ve probably had a mobile phone for some time now, one that you’re able to use for the basics, like talking to your friends and family, or dashing off a short text message. We love our cell phones for helping us keep in touch with one another—and now, with smart phones widely available and much more affordable, we have even more mobile Internet connectivity and computing capability at our fingertips.

Making the switch to a smart phone can seem expensive to someone used to the cost of a regular cell phone, which is why a little research on the smart phone market can really pay off. With some research, you will be able to find deals on cheap smartphones. Reading up on smart phones will also make you aware of the kind of features you should be looking for, no easy feat considering the many wonderful functions this new class of cell phones offers. It goes without saying that a smart phone should have a QWERTY keyboard, but on top of that you might look for a handset that includes a high-quality camera (e.g. 3.2 megapixels or more) and an expandable microSD slot so that you can boost your cell phone’s memory. With more memory, you’ll be able to store music and podcasts on your smart phone, making it an even handier all-in-one mobile device.

Get FREE SHIPPING from LetsTalk.com on any order with a 2 year service plan from carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile

See how a phone feels in your hand, and whether you feel more comfortable navigating its interface with a track pad, tracking ball, or touch screen. The BlackBerry Pearl 9100, for example, is sleek and small, and yet includes a 3.2 megapixel camera, and picture-sharing through MMS (multimedia messaging service). It’s got a fantastic optical track pad that replaces the clunkiness of a tracking ball, and yet also avoids the smudging that often goes hand-in-hand with touch screen smart phones.

The point is not only how a phone looks and feels, but also what it allows you to do. Think carefully about what kinds of things you’ll be doing online with your smart phone, and how fast you’ll need a connection to be. Will you be using this phone for your business, or is it just a convenient way for you to email friends when you’re riding the bus or out about town?

Receive 5% off the entire shopping cart up to $25 on LetsTalk.com.
If you’re more interested in a smart phone for personal use, consider the HTC Snap, an inexpensive, popular smart phone that allows reliable access to email, instant messaging, and web browsing without all the bells and whistles. A slight step up for someone interested in a first-time smart phone for business purposes might want to consider the LG IQ, which connects to the web via a much faster 3G+ connection, and allows you to surf the web via Internet Explorer 7. As with the BlackBerry Pearl, which can accommodate BlackBerry applications (apps) such as Facebook, the LG IQ can be loaded up with Windows apps, many of which will help you extend your smart phone’s capabilities to time management, social networking, and business and financial planning—just to name a few.

BlackBerry, LG, and HTC all make a number of different smart phone models, so while this overview gives you a sampling of the features offered by their most popular smart phones, the best thing to do is go out and try them for yourself. Your nearest cellular mobility provider will likely have a number of BlackBerry, LG, and HTC smart phones, from which you can choose the model that best suits you.

Sprint Blackberry Curve 8530 FREE Out the door Plus Free Activation on New Plans from 7/27 to 8/2/10 for a limited time!

LetsTalk.com, a leading online retailer of cell phones and service plans, offers cell phone plans from all the major carriers (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon) as well as regional carriers.

Buying a mobile phone used to be a very big decision, however as costs have come down there are many cheaper alternatives that you can think about when choosing what phone you want. This article will look into some of the basic factors you should consider when looking for cheap cell phones for you or your family.

When thinking about the expense of a phone you should first make the decision regarding the payment model you will choose. Typically, there are two models you can choose from, (1) pay as you go and (2) a contract plan. These two models differ in the way that you pay the telecommunications companies quite dramatically.

With a pay as you go phone, you are paying for the phone itself outright and them just paying for the actual cost of ever call you make. To top up you credit you can buy top-up cards over the counter and newsagents, or you can use an automated system that will allow you to charge up credit using your standard credit or debit card. Call costs using a pay as you go phone are usually slightly higher.

A contract plan involves you having an agreement with a telecommunications company like AT&T or Verizon to spend a minimum amount of money every month. Depending on what that minimum fee is, the phone company will subsidize the cost of the phone handset and give you a certain number of minutes of calls and text messages each month included as part of the package. If you use more that your allotted number of minutes or messages, you will be charged an additional fee.

Do not be fooled into thinking a contract will allow you to get a better handset, ultimately you are still paying for the handset it is just that you are spreading out the payments over the term of the contract, usually one or two years. Your decision should be based on how much you will likely use the phone.

If you are likely to use the phone quite a lot and would easily exceed the number of included minutes within a contract it is probably better to choose a contract with lower call costs. If you rarely make phone calls, a pay as you go strategy is probably best. There are a number of very inexpensive prepaid models under the $50 prices tag such as the Samsung U350 and the Nokia 2720 that would suit the needs of an infrequent user.

The key to purchasing a good inexpensive phone is to first clearly understand your own calling habits and requirements and then investigate the total cost of ownership over a one or two year time frame.

Quite recently 3G touch screen cell phones has picked up popularity in the markets as a result of which, the cell phone manufacturers have turned to produce more and more touchscreen phones with a wide variety of features pre installed. The competition these manufacturers face from each other are so intense that, each day you could expect a new 3G touchscreen phone in the market with loads of competing and breath taking features.

Some of the exciting touchscreen phones recently launched and those with great sales are Apple iPhone 3G, the Nokia XpressMusic 5800, BlackBerry Storm 9500, Samsung Omnia i900, Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 etc avaialable at an approximate price ranging from $650 to $850. The iPhone 3G touchscreen mobile priced at around approximately $750 is the most widely or commonly used touchscreen 3G phone. The intuitive features the iPhone 3G houses such as the 3G wireless enviroment, GPS tracking etc is something which makes the phone a hot deal. Combined with the features of an Ipod, a touch screen phone and an internet device, the iPhone 3G is a remarkable device that is worth a buy.

However there are quite a few areas which one has to take good note of while planning to purchase a 3G touchscreen phone:-

1) The display size:- Display size is a major thing that you got to look out for when purchasing a touchscreen phone since each and every function is carried out by the tap of a finger. So bigger the display more comfortable you would be in using the features.
2) Sensitivity of screen:- This is an area that should be given utmost importance, since every feature on a touch screen phone is accessed by the tap of the finger on the screen, it is quite inevitable to note how it responds to your gentle tapping.
3) Battery life:- Phones with bigger screens are more prone to lesser battery life. Touch screen phones are never an exception in this case since, they are the ones that drains the battery life quite rapidly. So before purchasing a touchscreen phone, make sure that one with the best battery life possible in the bigger screen category is bought.
4) The user interface:- The user interface is some kind of a concern when it comes to touch screen phones. There are quite a few touch screen models having smaller on screen icons which could be kind of a strain if fingers are used. In those cases, the stylus has to be made use of. But for those who aren’t comfortable using the stylus, phones with big screens and large icons on it are advisable. Neverthless using the stylus or either the fingers has got its pros and cons.
5) Internet browsing capabilities:- Since these days, a vast majority of the people prefers hand held devices to browse through the internet or do their day to day activities on internet, going through the internet capabilities of the phone such as the Wi-Fi or edge support would be a good idea. Wider the range of internet specifications on the phone, much productive it would be in the long term.

It’s been a year since I’ve started using the Sony Ericsson (SE) M600i. I like this phone because really helps me with more than just making and receiving phone calls, but also browsing the internet, checking email, going on Facebook, chatting, and more. This is one of the most high-speed Three G phones, with a good price.

SE M600i comes with 60MB of internal memory and includes a 64MB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card with the phone. But I suggest to getting a 1GB card for bigger space if you want to save multimedia files on it.

Running Symbian OS 9.1 and UIQ 3.0, SE M600i boasts UMTS support and the usual business applications, such as QuickOffice to write, edit, and read Microsoft Word and Excel documents, and a PDF viewer. With this features, for me, SE M600i mixed my business with pleasure meanwhile I use it for listening music, video streaming, and games. And by using SE PC Suite application help me sync my e-mail, contacts, calendar, and tasks from SE M600i to computer. SE M600i organized my business in my hand easily.

And not just for phone call and business applications, sometimes I use SE M600i as modem by wired or wireless connection. Through Bluetooth I connected SE M600i to my computer and sharing files to other cell phone.

Its slim design looks elegant with comfortable qwerty keyboard and large touch-screen display. I think SE M600i is one of best pocketable smartphones. Using 3-way scroll wheel we can move up, down and select easily, going back by pressing back button on left side, using its @ button to open browser (but this can be changed to other actions in the settings), and the good one is we can use pen stylus to write faster than using its dual function keyboard.

Despite all its many features, the lack of Wi-Fi support and a camera sorely disappointing and sometimes it crashed once in a while, most while browsing.

There are many different cell phone providers available that you can do business with and you are not limited to just a few choices when it comes to choosing a cell phone. Cell phones are not cheap and could cost as much as $500. There is even a diamond crusted Blackberry available for those who can afford it. Whether you’re shopping for three g phones or not, doing your homework before you buy a cell phone is a smart thing to do.

Companies will offer a few of the models at a reduced price when you sign up with them, sometimes when you sign up for their cell phone family plans. Of course the way they list it makes it seem that you’re getting a better savings than you actually are. There are also the ones that you can get for “free” after your “instant rebate”. I’m sure we all know what that means?

When shopping around for the best cell phone provider for your needs, there are many factors to take into consideration.

1. How much will you be using the phone?
2. Is it going to be used mostly for local or long distance calling?
3. Will anybody else be using the phone? If so, is is beneficial to purchase a second phone and get a family plan?
4. What do you want the phone to be able to do? Do you want to take photographs from it? Do you want text messaging? Do you want to be able to access the internet?

Thinking about all these options before you start shopping around will save you a considerable mount of time and money. Try not to allow the salesperson to sell you on options you don’t need or won’t use. You’ll end up throwing away your money.

I love the way technology has come so far since the first cell phone. The first one was the size of a suitcase and did nothing but make badly connected and expensive phone calls. Now the phone that are hitting the market are just great. We’ve reached the point that there are now three G phones that can do a hell of a lot more than making simple calls.

There are a few companies out there that offer the technology of the three G network. One of the leaders out there is Sony Ericsson with their C905 phone. It moves at break neck speed that is as good if not faster than DSL service that you get at home with your desktop computer.

Out of all the phones out there I would say that this is the phone that I will have to get for my wife since she always connected to the internet and hates it when she’s out doing other things. My wife runs several websites as well as constantly downloading news videos. The Sony Ericsson C905 will give her the ability to do the things she needs to do at anytime of the no matter where she may be.

The phone is sleek and the screen is a descent size for her to see what she has to do. file transfers are a easy task to do with this phone, it will fit her every need.

With the camera’s 8GB with 3264 X 2448 resolution is great for her to take pictures of the kids. The streaming video capabilities are fantastic, especially if you tired of dealing with sporadic stopping of the videos. The phone has 2GBs of memory that makes it work so well.

The phone itself weighs only 136 grams, which is just right to carry around. It will definitely be the one that my wife will be carrying with her real soon.
